Full product description

The Z2000 range of beam detectors provide cost effective detection of fires within large open spaces. Significant installation savings are realised over point type detectors together with simplified maintenance.

Adjustable sensitivity levels ensure minimal false alarms whilst enhancing the detection of real fires.

Smoke obscuring the beam causes a weakened signal resulting in an alarm. A low level control unit provides detailed information regarding the status of each detector and passes fire and fault information to the ZP loop via a Z740 interface.

The use of a low level control unit ensures simple maintenance with alignment measurements and sensitivity changes being made with relative ease.
The detectors are extremely environmentally stable under all specified temperature and humidity conditions and a unique alignment feature provides high stability and freedom from false alarms. The units are continuously monitored for optical and electrical faults. This, together with an auto compensation facility provides peace of mind in the knowledge that each detector is not only performing correctly, but its sensitivity has been tailored for optimum performance.

Details

Further installation savings can be made through mounting the transmitter and receiver adjacent to each other on the same wall, and 'bouncing' the signal off a reflector mounted on the opposite wall.

The Z2000 detector is a general purpose detector enjoying low current consumption.

The units are installed so that the beam will project between 0.3 and 0.6 metres below the ceiling. Lateral detection may be up to 7.5 metres either side of the beam with a maximum transmitter to receiver coverage of 100 metres.

The transmitter unit requires a 24Vdc supply, as does the beam controller unit. The beam receiver unit is connected to the beam controller unit via a 3-core cable. Clean changeover fire and fault contacts are available at the controller to enable the beam detector to interface with the ZP system.
